A deer wanted to fail my driving school test.

Tom Lo, 17 years old
Tom Lo felt joyous and overwhelmed as he passed the test despite the unfortunate incident. He would have been forgiven for thinking his chances of passing first time had taken a knock following the incident, but he kept his composure to complete the test.
The 17-year-old explained that he was just ten minutes into the test when the deer ran out in front of the car on a road near Colchester in Essex.

His examiner checked the car for damage and the teenager went on to pass the test with just two minor errors.
“I was picking up speed because it was a 60mph zone and all of a sudden I see a deer in front of me,” he told BBC Newsbeat. “So I hit my brake but unfortunately the deer was killed.”
He added: “I pulled over after the incident and my driving instructor had a look at the car and checked the deer.
“He said there was nothing we could do and that it wasn’t my fault, so I was told to continue my test.
“I was a bit shocked and I didn’t really know what to do. I tried to focus because I’d worked quite hard on my driving test.
“I tried to carry on driving to a high standard. At the end my driving examiner told me I’d passed and he had a word with my driving teacher to let him know what happened to the car.”

His driving instructor Robert Jezierski told the Daily Gazette: “He kept his composure and he did very well. He has only had 20 hours of lessons.
“We teach them the emergency stop as part of the curriculum that we cover but it is very rarely that they have to put it into practice.”

Engine Control Module ( ECM) of a car

Engine Control Module ( ECM) inside  a car

I have contact with people regularly who complain of their ECM (Engine Control Module ) fondly called brain box getting bad.

Three major reasons are.

1. Removing the battery head while the key is plugged to the ignition switch

2. Allowing water get in contact with the ECM (brain box)

3. This may look unimportant but it counts, do not allow any naked wiring in your car , ensure to tape any when you  find one. All the body of your car is earthy allowing any expose will result to short circuiting which may damage the ECM

Bring back our 108 Toyota Land Cruiser jeeps or .... NLC tells senators

Ayuba Wabba

The Nigeria Labour Congress has called on senators who benefited from a recent purchase of 108 brand new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles by the Senate to immediately return same or face the wrath of the Nigerian people.
The union described the purchase, coming at a time the country is enduring excruciating financial crisis, as a crime against the people.
Reports said senators have started taking delivery of the new Sports Utility Vehicles, SUVs, since last week at the rate of N35.1 million per unit.
In a statement by the NLC president, Ayuba Wabba, on Monday, Labour said it was “morally despicable and shameful” that the lawmakers embarked on such acquisition when they were supposed to occupy themselves with issues that would benefit the people.
“We consider appalling, insensitive and greedy the decision of the Senate to acquire 108 Toyota Land Cruiser jeeps (one for each member less the Senate President) after collecting car “loans” in August last year for the same purpose,” Mr. Wabba said.
“It is equally morally despicable and shameful that they are doing this after publicly admitting that the standing committees of the Senate are unable to perform their statutory functions due to paucity of funds.”
Mr. Wabba said the prices of the vehicles were grossly inflated and demanded that the lawmakers explain where they sourced the funds since the 2016 Appropriation Bill had not been signed into law.
“We at the Nigeria Labour Congress equally consider it a willful and grievous criminal act the inflation of the unit cost of each of the cars by over a 100 percent, as each car supposedly cost N35.1 million instead of N17 million.

“Aside from this, Nigerians are keen to know from where they got money for the purchase of these cars without appropriation.”
Mr. Wabba also rubbished the explanation put forward by the Senate to justify the purchase.
“The defence offered by the Senate spokesperson, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, is laughable and childish. According to him, Special Advisers use jeeps, why not Senators or do Nigerians expect them to trek to work? And in any case, cars are capital projects!
“Couldn’t this have been put to better uses such as the constituency projects of these same Senators? At a time with severe economic challenges and deepening poverty in the land, can the Senate afford this level of reckless luxury and arrogance?
“The answer is “no”.
“Their multiple acts of criminality, ranging from acquiring these cars after previously taking loans for the same purpose; spending money without appropriation and over inflating costs constitute not just corruption but a crime against the Nigerian people whom they claim to represent,” Mr. Wabba said.
The Labour leaders, therefore, called on the senators to return the vehicles or face public backlash, adding that no one is above the law.
“Accordingly, we demand they return those cars to whoever supplied them or the appropriate agencies prosecute them for corruption.
“In the event none of this happens, they should be prepared to keep a date with Nigerian workers and their civil society allies including market women and students.
“No one is above the law,” the Labour leader said.

Petrol stations which could be more beautiful than your house

1. In first place is Pops Arcadia on Route 66, Oklahoma. The cantilever building features a 66ft drinks bottle on the grass outside, which lights up at night.

 2. In second place is Orival Gas Station in Belgium, which spans both carriageways and features not only fuel pumps, but picnic areas and art exhibitions in the surrounding landscaped parks.

 3. The Wissol Gas Station in Georgia is actually one of 20 fuel stops commissioned by the head of the Roads Department. It was completed in 2011 and is built from steel and concrete, its design intended to reflect the mountainous landscape that surrounds it.

 4. The Batumi petrol station in Georgia includes a well-known fast food chain. The dual design features tinted windows on one side and a large white overhang, linked by their use of geometric beams for continuity.

5. Over to the Netherlands for the rather oppressive looking Houten Service Station, completed in 1999. It is built from galvanised steel plates, designed to minimise wind turbulence and serve as obvious entry and exit points for cars.

meet the longest car in the world

The massive limousine, which was built by California custom car guru Jay Ohrberg, measures in at a stunning 100 feet long and became certified as the longest car in the world by Guinness World Records in the mid ’90s. It sports 26 wheels, a jacuzzi, diving board, king-sized water bed, and even a helicopter landing pad. Because, why not?
But while all that is spectacular on its own, it’s the recent history of the longest car in the world that may be the most interesting. More on that in a minute.

Hennessey Venom GT

I present to you the fastest car in the world  Hennessey Venom GT

2016 Hennessey Venom GT

Leading the pack will be Hennessey’s flagship hypercar, the Venom GT now boasting a maximum power output of 1451 bhp @ 7200 rpm, a gain of 207 bhp over the previous generation Venom which clocked a top speed of 270.4 mph at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida in 2014. Horsepower and torque are increased thanks to having the ability to run E85 Flexfuel which allows its 7.0L twin turbo V-8 engine to increase boost pressure from 19 psi to 26 psi.
“Being the fastest matters”, said company founder and president, John Hennessey. “We are intent on keeping the Venom as the fastest, best performing and most exciting hypercar on the road”.
Sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires will put the Venom’s power to the ground via GPS-based traction control system. Combined with a curb weight of just 2743 lbs (1244 kg) the Venom GT continues to offer an unmatched power to weight ratio.
Projected performance:
0-60 mph: 2.4 sec.
0-100 mph: 4.4 sec.
0-200 mph: 12.8 sec.
¼ mile: 9.4 sec. @ 167 mph
0-300 kph: 10.9 sec.
0-400 kph: 18.1 sec.
Top Speed: 280+ mph

“We only plan to produce a handful of Venom GT’s in 2016 as we are also preparing for our next evolution, the Venom F5”, said Hennessey. “We plan to demonstrate our improved power and performance both in terms of straight line acceleration as well as road course handling and lap time performance”.

Where is the best place to sit in a car?

Are you wondering were could be the safest place to sit in a car, the front or at the back.

Well my candid answer will be the middle seat at the back.

Why you should set at the middle back sit ?

The middle seat offers the most distance from impact during a collision (sometimes referred to as crumple zone). So if you get hit at an intersection, the outer seat will take more of a direct hit, while the middle seat remains relatively insulated.

One large study of the subject, by researchers at the University of Buffalo in 2006, analyzed more than 60,000 fatal crashes and found that passengers in the middle back seat were 86 percent more likely to survive than those in the front seats, and 25 percent more likely to survive than those in the other rear seats.

Now you know, next time do not hurry to sit at the front.

what causes the grinding sound in your car wheels?

Sometimes when we drive our cars it is important we observe the sounds that the car makes or that is produce from the car.

one of such sound is the the grinding sound that it makes on your wheels, the sound is mostly to occur in cars that have disc brake on the front wheel (the rear wheel are mostly drum brake).

The likely cause of this  includes:
1. bad brake pad - you  easily identify a bad brake pad by observing the reduction in the pad
2. Un-tighten brake pad (loosen pad fittings) - as simple as this may look, this is a major reason why your brake pad may be making that grinding sound, when the fittings are not well positioned or the fittings are bad, the brake pad is not well positioned, this leads to the vibration of the brake pad, and the noise occurs.
